Farrah Tan Coffee Quality and Start-Up Manager
My name is Farrah and I’m a manager with more than a decade experience in the hospitality industry, ranging from counter-service espresso bars to full-service restaurants. I’m specialized in start-up management, building structure and training teams. My love for coffee began at Starbucks. I went from drinking caramel macchiatos to enjoying espressos and trying to figure out exactly what I was tasting, to eventually participating in national barista championships. My love for the coffee industry brought me to various management positions in very different stores and has given me many insights in the current hospitality industry and how to best start off a business.
In 2016, I started my own company called The Daily Grind. My company provides coffee services during tradeshows and events, but also hosts trainings for baristas and consultancy and interim positions at various stores throughout the Netherlands. My specialization is start-up management. For any store, the start-up period is usually riddled with problems waiting to be solved. Sometimes, existing businesses also need a helping hand or a new pair of eyes to scrutinize and optimize the workflow. I enjoy bringing order to chaos and seeing a team and store flourish as the pieces begin to fall into place.
